Scholarship Tips

  • It takes time and effort to find a scholarship. Allow the time you need to search for them.
  • To maximise your chances of success, it is important to provide a good scholarship application with good detail that will impress the selection panel.
  • Apply for as many scholarships as you can.  There is no limit as long as you meet entry criteria.
  • Check out CareersNZ for a Step-by-step Guide to Applying for a Scholarship. 
  • Most Scholarships are only available to NZ Residents - check criteria and eligibility conditions.

WITT Administered Scholarships

WITT Sport Academy Scholarships

The Academy is designed for school leavers who are ready to start tertiary study while advancing their high-level sports careers. Services to these athletes will include individual programme planning, testing and prescription in areas such as exercise, physiology, biomechanics and strength and conditioning. Academy staff will work with athletes, their coaches and mentors to provide complete support through training and competition.  Find out more about Sports Academy

WITT School Leaver Degree Scholarships

WITT offers degree-level scholarships to eligible Taranaki school leaver applicants.  The scholarship covers a year of tuition fees (up to $7,500).

If you are entitled to the Government Fees-Free year, this scholarship will cover your second year of study which means two years of your study at WITT will be fees-free.

Bachelor of Accounting*

Bachelor of Applied Management

Specialisations include:
   Human Resources
   Operation and Production Management
   Project Management

Bachelor of Culinary Arts*

Bachelor of Engineering Technology

Bachelor of Nursing

Bachelor of Social Work*

Te Kahui Matanui - Further Education

For students enrolled in a Level 3 and above level programme.

Value: $2,500
Closing date: Last Friday in April each year

BJ Hetet Scholarship

For Students in any Full-Time Programme. The scholarship will be awarded to an individual once each year to a maximum of $10,000 over two years of study to assist in the student's costs of study for that year.

Ara Ake

This scholarship includes tuition fees to the value of $7,500 per student, per year. Administration and payment of the scholarship will be managed and disbursed at the discretion of WITT Te Pūkenga.

This scholarship includes Tuition fees and course related costs including travel to the value of $12,500 per student per year. Administration and payment of the scholarship will be managed and disbursed at the discretion of WITT Te Pūkenga.
