Over the three-week engagement period, WITT staff will have many opportunities to learn more about the proposed way of working and share their feedback.
We have created a change team to lead a series of meetings, online forums and drop-in sessions as we recognise the importance of genuine staff engagement as we navigate this unprecedented change to the way we work,” says Allie Hemara-Wahanui, Kaiarahi, Deputy Chief Executive.
Acting Chief Executive Peter Winder will also visit WITT’s New Plymouth campus on Monday 29 August and meet with staff.
WITT Academic Director and Change Team Manager Nita Hutchinson said that it's essential that staff know where to access support during this period.
“We have a duty to care for our kaimahi throughout these changes. We are working through a transition that will ultimately deliver better outcomes for ākonga, their whanau, Tiriti partners, employers and industry, however this may bring unwanted and additional stress to current staff,” she says.
Nita also said that the proposed operating model is just the tip of the iceberg and that there is still a lot of work to be done.
“While the technology and the systems we use might change, no matter what the operating model WITT is part of, we will continue to be the largest tertiary education provider in the Taranaki region.”
