"I’m very excited about the change this new role will bring. I can’t wait to get out in the community and share with South Taranaki the wide range of programmes at WITT,” she said.
Previously working for Mental Health New Zealand, Jenna is passionate about others' well-being and enjoys working with people from all walks of life. She has always been drawn to working with people who are underprivileged or on the sidelines of society.
“I am excited to share with the South Taranaki what’s on offer to study in Hāwera, especially the healthcare assistance and exercise programmes,” she said.
As a person with type one diabetes who has completed mental health studies, Jenna understands the importance of educating people about their well-being.
“There are so many jobs for healthcare assistances in South Taranaki, and I would love to see more graduates of this programme who can give back to the community,” she said.
Jenna hopes to be able to contribute to the growth of the South Taranaki campus in her time at WITT.
“We are so lucky to have a campus in Hāwera, and I would love for it to keep growing. I have a real soft spot for the South Taranaki community and want to make the campus feel like home for all our kaimahi and ākonga.”
Jenna encourages anyone considering studying or interested to find out what’s on offer, to come in and chat with the team.
“All the tutors and kaimahi at the South Taranaki Campus are here to help you succeed. If you don’t think that study is for you or have developed a certain mindset about it, come in and talk to us. We’re people just like you, and many of us have been where you are,” she said.
