This year the Fair is going digital, meaning students are able to submit their projects online. There will still be a number of physical events held at New Plymouth Boys High School over three days including scientific investigations and the robotics competition.
As well as having a new Fair Manager this year, there is also a new website, which gives the Fair a presence online and makes it more accessible to students right across the region.
Students can now submit their projects online, and organisers anticipate that going digital will help to encourage students who have not have been able to enter in the past.
WITT is the major sponsor of the Fair, proudly supporting the event since 2017.
“We support the Science and Technology Fair because it encourages Taranaki’s rangatahi to be curious and innovative,” WITT Marketing Manager Natalie Warren said.
“Cultivating interest in STEM subjects is creating future thinkers, and that’s vital for our region to develop and thrive.”
The Fair is a three day event held 9-11 August at New Plymouth Boys High School. Categories are Advertising Posters, Photography, Observational Drawing, Scientific Journalism, Year 10 Quiz, Technological Development, Scientific Investigation, Robotics and Water Rockets.
