New Zealand Certificate in Forest Harvesting Operations (Level 3)

If you love tools and machines and want to work in the outdoors in New Zealand’s forestry industry, this 20-week course will get you started. It focuses on manual processing and quality control. You could play a key role in harvesting our production forests by working in a commercial forest harvesting or log scaling operation.

Gain theoretical knowledge of plant and soils science and learn the science behind growing systems and environments. Use your new horticulture knowledge to gain a role working in nursery production, food production or parks and gardens.

New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Level 4)

with strand in Dairy Farming, Breeding Livestock Farming and Non-Breeding Livestock Farming

Gain the skills and knowledge to take responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of a pastoral farming production system. This qualification is targeted at people who are experienced workers in the agriculture industry and are looking to move into, or are at, a management level position in an agricultural production enterprise.

New Zealand Certificate in Organic Primary Production (Level 4)

Build on your experience or interest in the organic primary sector and gain the skills and knowledge to develop and monitor a production plan that complies with relevant organic standards, for either crop or livestock production. Graduates will be able to work in a self-managed capacity and may have some responsibility for the performance of others.

with optional strands in Specialist Equipment and Infrastructure

Learn general health and safety covering topics such as tractor safety, quad bike, two wheelers, water systems, tractor implements and wooden, wire and electric fencing and repair. This programme provides hands-on learning to help you on the farm.
